Getting Involved

We are looking for someone to lead our public relations and communications efforts. As Public Engagement Officer your responsibilities shall include:

• Seeking out and pursuing opportunities that will expand Finding Refuge’s media presence
• Building and delivering a communications plan that leads to long-term brand building and our goals, encompassing public relations, social media, analyst relations, community engagement, and content strategy
• Strategize and executing the roadmap that helps us elevate our organization across various audiences both internally and externally
• Responding to media inquiries
• Drafting and standardizing program language across all platforms
• Managing social media platforms and presence
• Creating content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram 
• Managing Facebook, Instagram, and Google Ads
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Who you are:

• You have or are in process of getting a university degree in communications, public relations, or any related field, or have at least one-year training in public relations or training
• Are proficient in Microsoft Word, Google Workspace, Canva
• Excellent writing and communication skills in English
• Have some knowledge of migration issues and is open to learn more
• self-driven and a team player
• Creative

Desirable:

• Some experience with Photoshop
• Experience social media management 
• Facebook, Instagram, and Google Ads experience **
